It has been quite the ride for us here in Istanbul, Turkey. We leave this morning and have given everything we had during our six days here. We crashed into bed each night late and awoke early every morning to the sounds of this vibrant often crazy city. On our final day we walked, took trains, taxis, and visited the Spice Market, the Grand Bazaar, and a few mosques and the Galata Tower to name a few of the hundreds of superb places to visit in this beautiful historic place. Everywhere we were reminded of the past and confronted with a people moving steadily forward. It is a city filled with wonderful, friendly people, divine food and clubs filled with revellers who party into the wee hours. Istanbul we love you and can only hope to return soon. Stay tuned as I will post more from Dina+Ramsey's wedding celebrations soon.

Dina+Ramsey are hosting a three-day wedding party for family and friends here in Istanbul. Today was day one - a boat cruise on the Bosphorus Straight. Photographer Steve Simon is assisting me here. He and I encountered student protests on our way to the party. Then Eric Clapton's tour manager asked me if I could "please go away" when he saw me with my gear standing in the lobby of the hotel just as Clapton and Steve Winwood were about to board a boat for their concert tonight. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. The dinner party is themed 1001 Arabian Nights.

Leaving NYC for New Orleans tonight after a fabulous few days. Mostly just wandered the city until my legs gave out. Spent a few different late nights at the Breslin in the Ace Hotel. What a bar. Great food, perfect cocktails, excellent staff. Go there now! Also a big shout out to Lord & Taylor which hosted a book signing for the Path Of The Northern Lights book from the 2010 Games. Here are a few random polaroids. Checking into NOLA tonight.
