With Equal Aplomb

When Crysta+Ro-An planned their wedding in Vancouver last year little did they know Crysta's convocation ceremony would be the same day and that the Vancouver Canucks would be in the Stanley Cup Finals and playing at home. With equal aplomb the two of them shrugged it all off and encouraged everyone to simply have a great time with them at their wedding everything would work out perfect. Well, they were right. Crysta popped in on her convocation and crossed the stage in her wedding dress. And the Canucks won on an overtime goal that wasn't missed by anyone due to tech-savvy guests who had the game quietly playing on iPods at several tables during the reception. Here are a few pics from the day. I'm still in Boston. Game 4 tonight. Home tomorrow.
The Sun Burns Through To The Planet's Core And It Isn't Enough

Saturday was the kind of day young mothers, realestate agents and wedding planners pray for. Vancouver has suffered through months of drab, rainy days, but all it takes is one like this to make us all forget. Crysta and Ro-An's wedding was more emotional than most. Generous tears flowed onto belly laughs as family and friends saluted two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Here's a quick one for now. More to come shortly.

Photographer Attacked By Nibbling Horses

The Simpson family arrived like a lot of Irish immigrants here in Chilliwack, British Columbia more than 100 years ago. Bob and Edie Simpson brought up four kids and have had many great years at their farm. Those kids have grown children of their own now and some of those children are having children. So it is with some regret that the farm is for sale, the horses will go and Bob and Edie will find smaller digs. I had the pleasure of joining the entire family one afternoon last week and beyond being seen as a tasty treat by one fiesty mare it was so much fun.
Men Being Boys Girls Being Women

Jennifer+ Mike were married in the garden at the historic Harrison Hot Springs Hotel on Saturday, but it wasn't about them. It truly was a coming of age party for their son and daughter, Reilly + Alexa. It was a day of men being boys and girls being women. It was a beautiful day on the lake and a perfect wedding for all. Thanks to Alanna Clempson for helping as second photographer, and to Andrea Rosenke and all the staff at Harrison for being so fine.

You Were Always There For Me

The thing I love about weddings besides beautiful horses, slobbering dogs, cute kids and 91-year-old, sharp-as-a-tack grandmothers is the raw emotion. Friday's wedding with Renae + Tyler was a whirlwind of laughter and tears as we travelled the length of the eastern Fraser Valley here in British Columbia on one of the hottest days of the summer. Have fun in Costa Rica.
